Size guide

All latex and corsetry items are made to order, and you are encouraged to provide your own measurements to obtain the perfect fit, with the exception of separates such as knickers, leggings and suspenders that will be made in standard sizing.

Not everybody’s figure conforms perfectly to standard dress sizing measurements. For example, your measurements may fit with a size 10 bust, size 8 waist and size 12 hips.

The size chart is provided below for your information, these are the U.K. standard dress measurements for a woman 5’3” to 5’7” in height. The measurements are of the body and not of the clothing.

Measurements are in inches.

If you wish to provide your full range of measurements for made to measure, please use the attached chart:

Measuring yourself for latex

  • Measurements should be taken in inches with a flexible dressmakers tape measure, not a metal hardware tape measure.
  • Measurements can be taken when you are naked, or wearing close-fitting garments and an unpadded bra.
  • The tape measure should be pulled in snug against your skin, but not so tight that it digs in to your flesh.
  • Measure yourself before a meal, and early in the day, standing upright.
  • Body measurements are confidential, please give accurate measurements to ensure a perfect fit, Lady Lucie is not responsible for garments made to incorrect measurements supplied by the customer.
  • Certain latex garments are cut smaller than the actual body measurement to allow for stretch, measure yourself not your clothing.

It's better to have someone other than yourself do the measuring because that gets you the most accurate measurement.
To take measurements; make sure that the tape measure remains parallel to the floor all the way around and does not ride up or down at the back, take measurements in inches, round up or down to the nearest inch.

Bust - this is the fullest part of your bust; take the measurement with your arms down.
Underbust - The measurement around your ribcage, underneath your bust.
Waist - Your true waistline is the smallest part of your torso, just below the ribcage, 1”-2” above your belly button. Find your true waistline by tying a piece of string or elastic taut around your waist.
Hip - this is the fullest part of your hip; called the low hip line. To find this measurement stand with feet together, wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your body between your waist and your knees.
Inside leg - Standing straight, measure the leg from the underside of the crotch to the anklebone. If the measurement is for loose fitting or flared trousers measure to where you would like the hem to finish, if you will be wearing high heels wear those whilst taking measurements.
Rise - The measurement from your front centre waistline, between your legs, around to the back centre waistline. This measurement is useful to determine your torso length when making catsuits.
Waist to nape - Measurement from back centre waistline, up your spine to the nape of your neck, where you will feel a prominent bone.
Stockings – For perfectly fitting stockings supply measurements of leg length, from your heel on the floor to your buttock crease, your thigh circumference at widest point and shoe size.

When ordering please include your U.K. bra size and height.

Measuring yourself for corsets

All corsets are made to order, Lady Lucie offers two levels of corset:

Custom made; a made to measure service where you provide me with your measurements to custom make a well fitting corset.

Couture made; a bespoke tailoring, or made to fit service, where detailed measurements are taken and a ‘toile’ or mock up of the corset is made. A consultation and personal fittings in Lady Lucie’s studio will be necessary. This will incur an additional charge to cover toile making and pattern cutting time of 40-60% dependent on the style of corset. Once your personalised pattern is created it will be kept on record and any further corsets made will be charged at the custom made rate. Please contact Lady Lucie for details of this service.

Lady Lucie keeps a small stock of prototype and display corsets so samples of her ability can be seen.

Custom corsets are labelled in even waist sizes of 2” increments e.g., 20”, 22", 24”etc.
The waist size is the interior waist measurement of the finished corset. Corsets are made to reduce the natural waist by up to 4”. For example, if your waist naturally measures 28” you will fit a 24” corset. If your waist measures 25” you will be rounded down and inch to fit into a 20” corset so you will have room to waist train smaller.

  • Measurements should be taken in inches with a flexible dressmakers tape measure, not a metal hardware tape measure.

  • The tape measure should be pulled in snug against your skin, but not so tight it digs in to your flesh.
  • Measure yourself before a meal, and early in the day, standing upright.
  • Ensure when measuring around the body the tape measure remains horizontal all the way around
  • Body measurements are confidential, please give accurate measurements to ensure a perfect fit, Lady Lucie is not responsible for garments made to incorrect measurements supplied by the customer.
  • You can make an appointment to come into the studio and be measured for custom made corsets if you are unsure of taking the measurements yourself.
  • It may help when taking measurements to use a pen or make-up pencil to mark reference points on the body.
  • The amount that your waist can be reduced by is dependent on your figure type, most women should be able to reduce the waist by 4”, and if you are curvier you will be able to reduce the waist by more.
  • The corset back lacing should not close completely on a new corset; there should be an even gap. This allows for gradual waist training and for changes in your body weight.

Around body measurements

Bust - this is the fullest part of your bust; take the measurement with your arms down.
Underbust - the measurement around your ribcage, underneath your bust.
Waist - your true waistline is the smallest part of your torso, just below the ribcage, 1”-2” above your belly button. Find your true waistline by tying a piece of string or elastic taut around your waist; it will then be a useful point to take other measurements from.
